(Windsor, Colo.) – As Water Valley Senior Living Resort resident Mark Carnes sits to rest, his companion Vinny is close by his side, standing still, listening and observing every detail around him. Vinny is not easily distracted while he is at work.

Three and a half years ago, Vinny, a standard poodle, became Mark’s service dog. Mark was in a rear-end collision in 2005 that gave him extensive back and spine injuries. Vinny is equipped with a harness that has a rigid bar that Mark uses to help him balance.

(Larimore, N.D.) – Thanks to a $110,000 estate left by longtime Good Samaritan Society – Larimore resident Calvin Peterson, the center is planning to build a community wellness center adjacent to its current rehabilitation area. The 1,700-square-foot space will have room for fitness classes, health and wellness education sessions and multiple types of cardiovascular and rehabilitation equipment.
